Chapter 8 - The New Dawn at Moretti Estate

Three weeks later, the crisp air of late autumn had given way to the first true snowfall of the season across the Hudson Valley.
The iron gates of the Moretti estate stood open, welcoming a new era. The white roses that had once filled the grand ballroom on that fateful night were gone, replaced by deep crimson camellias and evergreen boughs arranged by Grace Carter—who had officially been promoted to head of household management with a permanent, life-changing salary increase that ensured Emily’s college fund was fully secured before she even reached middle school.
Inside the grand dining hall, a small, intimate gathering was taking place.
There were no corrupt attorneys, no scheming socialites, and no false friends. Just family.
Sofia Moretti sat at the head of the long mahogany table, looking radiant in a classic emerald silk dress, her dark hair pinned back with the turquoise ribbon Emily had returned to her. To her right sat Vincent, his posture relaxed, a genuine, unburdened smile gracing his face for the first time in three years.
Down at the end of the table, eight-year-old Emily sat happily swinging her legs against her chair, happily carving into a massive slice of chocolate cake while Grace watched with a fond, protective smile.
“To new beginnings,” Dominic said, standing up and raising his crystal glass of sparkling cider toward the head of the table.
“To family,” Vincent echoed, lifting his glass to meet Sofia’s eyes across the table.

Sofia raised her glass, her gaze locking onto her husband’s with a deep, unbreakable warmth.
The nightmare was over. The ghost had returned from the grave, the traitors had been cast into the dark, and the Moretti empire stood stronger than ever—anchored not by fear or shadows, but by the quiet, unyielding power of truth.
