Chapter 6 - The Broken Vow"We are leaving," Julian said flatly, his decision instantly hardening like iron. "Right now."

Victoria’s eyes flared with anger. "You can't take her! She is my daughter! You have no right to walk in here and strip me of my child!"
"Try and stop me," Julian hissed, turning his back on her to walk toward the dropped briefcases.
As he stepped past the heavy metal bowl, Victoria lunged forward, grabbing his arm with surprising strength. Her acrylic nails dug through his suit jacket, piercing his skin. "If you take her out of this house, Julian, I will ruin you! I will call the police and tell them you attacked me! I'll take every cent you have, every piece of this company!"
Julian stopped and slowly turned his head to look at her grip on his sleeve. His expression was dead, devoid of any past affection.

"Take the money, Victoria," Julian whispered cold as ice. "Take the house. Take the cars. Take the stock options. But if you touch her again, if you even look in her direction, I will make sure you spend the rest of your life behind bars."
He wrenched his arm free from her grasp. Victoria stumbled back against the white marble wall, gasping for air. Her expensive mask was completely gone, replaced by a terrifying, unhinged look of pure defeat and rising vengeance. Julian didn't look back as he grabbed one briefcase, held Lily close, and marched toward the heavy wooden double doors of the mansion.
