The sharp crack of Clara’s hand striking Brad’s face echoed like a gunshot through the massive hall. The blow was so forceful that Brad staggered sideways, his gold blazer whipping around him in a blur as his face turned bright red with shock and pain.
Silence descended on the ballroom. Even the string quartet stopped playing.
Brad clutched his cheek, his eyes wide with utter disbelief. He had never seen this side of his wife. "You... you bitch! How dare you hit me in front of my associates?!"
