Chapter 7 - The Tables Turn

Color drained completely from Victor’s face, his jaw dropping as if he were staring down at actual
ghosts. "That... that's impossible!" Victor stammered, scrambling backward from his chair as the
federal agents moved swiftly to secure the exits. "You're dead! The coroner signed the certificates!"
Elena stepped forward, her voice ringing clear and authoritative across the silent boardroom.
"Coroners can be bribed, Victor, just like the security logs you tried to alter. But corporate blockchain
ledgers cannot." She nodded to Leo, who calmly walked up to the central digital podium, plugged his
micro-drive into the master terminal, and synchronized the encrypted files with the massive
overhead screen.
Instantly, financial wire transfers, offshore shell corporation registries, and recorded voice
confessions played across the display for every board member to see. The data laid bare Victor’s
entire conspiracy—from the embezzlement of corporate pension funds to the premeditated plot to
eliminate Elena and seize total corporate control. The boardroom erupted into a chaotic storm of
outrage and disbelief as directors realized how close they had come to handing the entire empire
over to a criminal.
