Chapter 6 - Apologies in the Study

An hour later, the grand foyer was empty, and Adrian sat alone in his leather-backed executive

chair inside the dark mahogany study, his head buried in his trembling hands. A soft knock broke

the stillness, and Elena entered hesitantly, holding a medical ice pack against her swollen wrist.

Without looking up immediately, Adrian stood, his voice breaking with profound remorse.

“Elena... words cannot begin to express how deeply sorry I am. I was a blind fool. I let her

manipulation blind me to the truth of who you are and what you risked for my daughter.” Elena

looked at him with steady, forgiving eyes, her quiet dignity shaming his previous explosive

temper. “Mr. Vance, I forgave you the moment I saw the look on your face when you realized the

truth. But trust in this house is broken. I think it’s best if I pack my things.” Adrian stepped

forward, blocking the door, pleading for a chance to make things right not just for his business,

but for the safety of his home.
