Nathan received structured parenting time.
The continuity covenant was frozen.
Eleanor was removed as trustee.
An independent fiduciary took control of the Cole Family Trust.
The court ordered a full review of the family's corporate structures.
Nathan was asked whether he wanted to preserve the inheritance.
He stood.
“Your Honor, I have heard the same argument my entire life.”
He looked toward Eleanor.
“Every time someone was threatened, framed, silenced, or removed, somebody said it protected the company.”
The courtroom was silent.
“I don't want a fortune built on people being afraid.”
Eleanor's lawyer called it economic destruction.
Nathan shook his head.
“I am asking that the people who did the work stop being used as shields for the people who caused the harm.”
The judge asked:
