Chapter 2 - The Signature of SalvationThe nurses stood frozen in shock, clipboards clutched tightly to their chests as Arthur groaned on the hospital floor, gasping for air like a fish out of water. Luca Moretti didn't spare the fallen tycoon another glance. Instead, he stepped toward the nurse holding the emergency paternity and custody registration forms required by the hospital administration before discharge.

Arthur scrambled up onto his elbows, his face twisted in a mask of furious humiliation and rage. "You can't do this!" Arthur spat blood onto the pristine floor. "That child belongs to the Sterling family! You have no legal right! Who the hell do you think you are?!"

Luca didn't flinch. He retrieved the clipboard from the trembling nurse, turned smoothly on his heel, and strode right up to Elena. His presence was a fortress, shielding her completely from Arthur’s toxic fury.

"Do you trust me?" Luca asked softly, his eyes searching Elena's face, communicating a silent promise of absolute protection.

Elena looked down at her sleeping baby boy, then back up into Luca's resolute eyes. She didn't know this man, but she knew Arthur. Arthur would destroy them both without a second thought. With a trembling hand, she nodded. "Yes," she whispered.

Luca flipped the document open to the paternal acknowledgment line. With steady, practiced strokes of his black fountain pen, he signed his name across the line designated for the father: Luca Moretti.

Arthur lunged forward to intervene, but two burly security guards—summoned by the commotion—finally rushed in, pinning Arthur's arms behind his back.

"Get your hands off me! Do you know who I am?!" Arthur shrieked, thrashing wildly.
