Chapter 7 - The Corporate Shark’s CounterattackAcross town in the sleek, glass-and-steel monolith of Sterling Enterprises, Arthur Sterling slammed his fists onto his executive desk, shattering a crystal paperweight. Shards of glass scattered across the expensive mahogany surface.

"What do you mean you can't overturn the birth certificate?!" Arthur roared at his chief legal counsel, a slick attorney named Marcus Vance—no relation to Elena, but equally ruthless.
Marcus adjusted his glasses nervously, sweating under Arthur’s venomous glare. "Sir, Luca Moretti isn't just some ordinary citizen. He holds immense leverage in shipping, real estate, and finance. The judge who oversaw the emergency filing recused himself immediately after Moretti's legal team submitted their dossiers. If we push too hard legally, Moretti will expose the offshore tax evasion files we buried last year."
Arthur’s face contorted into an ugly grimace of pure fury. "I don't care about the audits! That child is supposed to be the heir to my corporate legacy—not some bastard raised under the shadow of a rival!"
"Sir, with respect, Mr. Moretti is playing chess while we're playing checkers," Marcus warned carefully. "If we make a direct move against his estate, we won't just lose the child; we'll lose the entire company."

Arthur sank back into his leather chair, his chest heaving as he plotted. If the law wouldn't help him steal the child back, he would have to use other methods. In the cutthroat world of corporate warfare, rules were only suggestions, and Arthur knew plenty of underworld fixers who were more than willing to test the security of the Moretti estate for the right price.
"Find out who Moretti's weak spots are," Arthur whispered, his eyes narrowing into cold slits. "Every fortress has a blind spot. Find it."
