Chapter 3 - Into the Lion’s DenStepping out of Saint Jude Memorial Hospital into the crisp evening air, Elena felt like she was breathing oxygen for the first time in years. A sleek, matte-black bulletproof SUV waited at the curb, its rear door already held open by a towering chauffeur in a sharp suit.

"Get in," Luca instructed gently, shielding Elena's head with his hand as she slid into the luxurious leather interior. The baby stirred slightly, letting out a soft sigh before settling back into a deep, peaceful sleep against her chest.
Luca slid in beside her, closing the heavy door with a solid, muffled thud that cut off the chaotic noise of the city streets. As the vehicle glided silently into traffic, Elena finally allowed the adrenaline to fade, replaced by a crushing wave of exhaustion and uncertainty.
"Mr. Moretti..." Elena started, her voice barely a whisper. "I don't understand. Why risk your safety, your time, and your reputation for a complete stranger? Arthur Sterling is a powerful, vengeful man. He won't let this go."
Luca leaned back against the headrest, turning his head to look at her. The dim amber lighting inside the cabin carved sharp shadows across his striking features. "Some debts in this life aren't measured in money, Elena," he said quietly, his voice carrying a heavy, untold weight. "And Arthur Sterling has built an empire on destroying people who couldn't fight back. It’s time someone reminded him what it feels like to lose."
Elena clutched the edge of her coat. "How do you know my name?"

A cryptic smile played on Luca's lips. "I make it my business to know everything about the things that matter. Rest now. By the time we reach the estate, you'll have a safe haven where no one—least of all Arthur—can ever touch you or your son."
As the vehicle sped toward the sprawling, gated Moretti estate nestled in the hills, Elena looked down at her baby. Little did she know, this safe haven was only the beginning of a massive storm that would shake the city's underworld and high society to its very core.
