Chapter 10 - A New DawnStepping out onto the back patio, Maya and Victoria were greeted by warm applause from a select group of close friends, loyal colleagues, and charitable figures who had supported them through the darkest days of the crisis. There were no fake socialites, no greedy sycophants—only people of genuine heart and integrity.

Maya cradled her baby close to her chest, feeling the steady, healthy heartbeat of her child against her own. She looked out over the sparkling lawn, watching the sunset paint the sky in brilliant shades of orange and violet.

The nightmare with Marcus and Elena felt like a lifetime ago, a distant storm that had finally cleared, leaving behind fertile ground for a brand-new life. She had learned the hardest lesson a person could learn: that true strength does not come from toxic power or inherited wealth, but from self-worth, unbreakable family bonds, and the courage to stand up against darkness.

Victoria walked up beside her, handing her a glass of sparkling cider. They clinked their glasses together in a quiet toast to the future.

"To new beginnings," Victoria said with a rare, gentle smile.

"To family," Maya replied, looking down at her sleeping daughter, whose tiny hand curled instinctively around her finger. "And to hope."

As the laughter and soft music filled the evening air, the shadows of the past vanished completely, swallowed by the brilliant, unbroken light of a well-deserved, peaceful dawn.
