Chapter 8 - The Fall of the EmpireWhile Maya and her newborn daughter rested safely, the legal dismantling of the Sterling conglomerate reached its climax in downtown federal court.

The judge’s gavel struck the wood with a sharp crack that resonated through the packed courtroom. "Defendant Elena Sterling found guilty on all counts of racketeering, financial fraud, and incitement to violent assault. Defendant Marcus Sterling found guilty of corporate conspiracy and accessory to violence."
Flashes from news cameras illuminated the courtroom. Reporters shouted over one another, eager to capture the downfall of one of the city's most feared and powerful dynasties. Elena sat in the defendant's chair, her hair disheveled, her face hardened into a mask of bitter hatred as she glared directly at Victoria, who sat in the front row watching with quiet dignity.
With their assets seized, their bank accounts frozen, and their corporate empire dissolved under the weight of federal investigations, the Sterling name was effectively erased from the upper echelons of society. Their mansion was ordered into receivership, and their properties were auctioned off to pay restitution to the victims of their decades-long financial schemes.
Outside the courthouse, reporters swarmed Victoria as she stepped out into the bright afternoon sunlight, flanked by her security detail.

"Ms. Vance! Is it true that Vance Global is absorbing the remnants of Sterling Enterprises?" a reporter called out.
Victoria stopped, adjusting her sunglasses, and looked directly into the camera lens. Her voice was steady, clear, and unyielding. "Sterling Enterprises was built on the suffering of innocent people and maintained through intimidation. That era is over. Moving forward, all remaining assets will be redirected into a charitable trust dedicated to protecting abused mothers and children. Justice has been served, and the past is officially buried."
