Chapter 7 - The Miracle of LifeHours later, in the sterile yet luxurious private suite of St. Jude’s Hospital, the atmosphere shifted from tense vengeance to breathless anticipation.

Victoria paced outside the delivery room, her tactical gear replaced by a simple cashmere sweater, though her eyes remained sharp and vigilant. The best medical specialists in the country were inside, fighting to save Maya and her baby after the traumatic shock induced by the attack.

Suddenly, the doors swung open. A weary but smiling senior doctor walked out, removing his surgical cap.

"Ms. Vance?" he asked softly.

Victoria rushed forward, her breath catching in her throat. "Is she... are they okay?"

"It was a difficult delivery, brought on prematurely by severe physical trauma," the doctor said, smiling warmly. "But your sister is a fighter. And I am overjoyed to tell you that she gave birth to a healthy, beautiful baby girl."

A wave of profound relief washed over Victoria, bringing tears to her eyes for the first time in years. She placed a hand over her chest, letting out a long, shuddering breath. "Can I see them?"

"They're resting in recovery. You can go in now."

Victoria pushed open the door to the quiet room. Maya lay against the pillows, pale and exhausted, but a radiant, peaceful smile graced her face. Cradled in her arms was a tiny bundle wrapped in a soft pink blanket, letting out a faint, precious cry.

"Victoria..." Maya whispered, her voice emotional as she looked up at her sister. "Look at her. She's safe."

Victoria walked over, gently touching the baby's tiny hand, feeling a surge of unconditional love she had never anticipated. "She's safe, Maya. And I swear to you, no one will ever harm either of you again. Ever."
