The champagne glasses remained untouched.
The flowers were beginning to wilt.
The ballroom looked strangely empty.
Richard found Anna standing beside the broken wall.
The sledgehammer still lay on the marble floor.
He picked it up.
Then looked at her.
"You saved my son."
Anna shook her head.
"He saved himself by surviving."
Richard smiled sadly.
"You saved him by refusing to walk away."
He offered her a position running the estate.
Anna hesitated.
"I don't want a reward."
Richard looked toward Leo, who was sleeping peacefully in a nearby room.
"Then don't think of it as a reward."
He paused.
"Think of it as a home."
