Chapter 13 - Eleanor's Desperate Attempt To Destroy The Evidence

As the guards moved to escort Eleanor out of the room, she made one final, desperate lunge toward the desk.

Her fingernails clawed at the spilled medical files, trying to rip the forged DNR into unrecognizable shreds before police arrived.

“Get her out of my sight!” Marcus shouted, stepping forward to block her path and protect the remaining documents.

The guards dragged Eleanor backward across the threshold, her high heels scraping loudly against the polished linoleum floor.

“You’ll regret this, Marcus! You’re nothing without me!” she screamed down the corridor as the elevator doors slid shut.

Silence descended upon the hospital room once more, broken only by the steady, rhythmic beeping of the newly calibrated heart monitor.

Nurse Sarah stepped forward, handing Marcus a fresh cup of black coffee from the staff lounge to steady his nerves.

“You handled that with incredible restraint, Mr. Vance,” Sarah said quietly, offering a reassuring, sympathetic smile.
