Chapter 13 - What Evidence Can and Cannot Fix

The trustee sought judicial guidance regarding the disputed trust provision and reproductive material.

Nobody received an instant ruling.

The storage provider maintained the status quo pending resolution and consent requirements.

Catherine’s legal interests remained relevant.

Khloe refused every private settlement requiring her to characterize Anthony’s intent inaccurately.

Meanwhile hospital records preserved the assault evidence.

Khloe’s account.

My account.

The recording.

The champagne glass sequence from the prior day.

Isabella’s communications.

Natalie separated two issues carefully.

The trust dispute would follow its own process.

The assault and attempted fabrication would have their own consequences.

Family emotion would not be allowed to blur them together.

Isabella’s design firm also began suffering consequences, but not because Khloe launched some public revenge campaign.

Isabella had borrowed heavily.

The trust money she expected never arrived.

She downsized her office and laid off staff.

Those consequences came from choices already made.

Catherine stopped paying Isabella’s personal expenses.

That mattered more than any courtroom humiliation.

For the first time, Isabella had to live without a parent rescuing her.

Khloe prepared for childbirth.

Our son remained healthy.

The pregnancy continued under medical supervision.

The bruising from the hospital faded.

The memory didn’t.

Then Isabella made one final offer.

She would withdraw her claim to the $640,000 subtrust if Khloe supported giving Isabella exclusive authority over the embryos.

Khloe stared at the proposal.

It proved something.

Money had never been the whole motive.

Isabella still wanted the symbol.

The right to say Anthony had left this part of himself to her.

Khloe declined.

Not because she wanted control.

Because Catherine’s rights and Anthony’s documented uncertainty mattered too.

The embryos weren’t a trophy either sister had the moral right to seize.

Isabella’s refusal to accept that made formal exposure unavoidable.
