Chapter 12 - Nathan Embraces His Daughter In A Quiet Safehouse

Far away from the chaotic airport tarmac, Nathan sat in the sunlit living room of a secluded safehouse overlooking the Hudson River.

Little Lily sat on the plush carpet playing quietly with a set of wooden building blocks, her bruised cheek finally showing signs of healing.

Grace stood by the window holding a mug of black coffee, watching the morning light dance across the calm water outside.

Nathan walked over quietly, handing her a fresh pastry on a small porcelain plate before leaning against the window frame.

“The federal marshals just intercepted Victoria at Teterboro,” Nathan said softly, breaking the peaceful silence in the room.

Grace stopped sipping her coffee, turning her head slowly to look up at him with wide, disbelieving eyes.

“She’s in federal custody facing charges of racketeering, assault, and conspiracy,” Nathan added with a reassuring smile.

“And the Cole family empire?” Grace asked quietly, knowing how much that multi-generational legacy meant to him.

“I burned it to the ground, Grace,” Nathan answered without a single ounce of regret in his steady voice.
