Judge Miller’s gavel slammed down with a resounding crack that echoed off the crystal chandeliers of the grand Plaza ballroom.
“Victoria Kensington, you stand convicted of corporate racketeering, wire fraud, and attempted aggravated assault on a minor,” the judge stated.
“The court sentences you to twenty-five years in a federal maximum-security penitentiary without the possibility of parole.”
Victoria let out a muffled sob, burying her face in her hands as federal marshals immediately stepped forward to cuff her wrists.
Her father slumped lower in his chair, realizing that his lifetime of political bribes and corruption had ended in absolute ruin.
