Chapter 9 - The Boardroom Coup Threatens Nathan’s Entire Corporate Empire

Monday morning arrived with a biting chill that mirrored the corporate war about to unfold at Cole Global headquarters.

Nathan stepped out of the private elevator onto the penthouse executive floor, wearing a sharp charcoal suit and an unreadable expression.

Waiting for him at the mahogany boardroom table were all seven members of the board of directors, looking grim and determined.

“Nathan, take a seat,” said senior board member Charles Vance, crossing his arms over his chest with hostile authority.

“We’ve received emergency petitions from the Kensington family regarding your recent erratic behavior and domestic instability.”

“Let me guess—you’re planning an emergency vote to strip me of my CEO status and freeze company assets,” Nathan said calmly.

Charles raised an eyebrow, surprised that Nathan wasn't yelling, screaming, or panicking in the face of absolute professional ruin.

“Under Section 8 of the corporate charter, moral turpitude allows us to remove any executive who compromises shareholder value,” Charles stated.

“Value?” Nathan laughed, pulling a thick flash drive from his pocket and tossing it across the polished wooden table.

“You call forty years of illegal offshore money laundering, tax evasion, and political bribery ‘shareholder value’?” Nathan asked coldly.
