Chapter 10 - Victoria Plots A Dangerous Escape With Stolen Funds

Miles away in a luxury downtown penthouse, Victoria packed designer suitcases with frantic, trembling hands and manic energy.

Her phone rang continuously with dropped calls from her disgraced father, whose real estate empire was currently being raided.

She opened a hidden wall safe behind an oil painting, pulling out stacks of bearer bonds and emergency bearer passports.

If Nathan thought he could destroy her life and walk away unpunished, he grossly underestimated her capacity for ruthless retaliation.

She dialed a private aviation charter service in Teterboro, her voice dripping with urgent, commanding desperation.

“This is Victoria Kensington. I need a Gulfstream fueled and ready for a one-way flight to Zurich within the hour.”

“I’m sorry, Ms. Kensington, but all private departures out of the tri-state area have been grounded by federal aviation authorities.”

“Grounding orders? By whose authority?” Victoria shrieked, slamming her fist against the marble countertop in rage.

“Federal Magistrate Judge Miller, acting on an emergency national security subpoena filed by Cole Global,” the dispatcher replied.
