Chapter 3 - Victoria’s Desperate Lies Collapse In The Modern Kitchen

Back in the sprawling white-marble kitchen, Victoria scrambled across the floor to pick up the fallen wooden hockey stick.
Her spotless designer dress was stained with kitchen dust, and her carefully crafted aristocratic composure was entirely shattered.
“Nathan, you cannot possibly believe that woman!” Victoria shrieked, her voice cracking with unmasked panic and hysteria.
“She’s a manipulative maid who sneaked into our home to entrap you with some random child!” Victoria yelled desperately.
Grace gently pulled little Lily behind her body, wincing sharply as a wave of intense pain shot through her injured shoulder.
“Look at her face, Victoria,” Nathan said, stepping into the kitchen with a voice so cold it felt like falling into ice water.
“Look at her eyes, her smile, and tell me she isn't a Cole,” Nathan demanded, his shadow falling heavily over his fiancée.
Victoria stepped backward until her spine hit the stainless-steel refrigerator, her chest heaving with rapid, shallow breaths.
“Your father agreed... your father wanted us to build this empire together without any interference!” Victoria blurted out recklessly.
The confession hung heavily in the air, confirming every suspicion Nathan held about the calculated pact between their families.
“Get out,” Nathan commanded quietly, pointing his finger toward the heavy front entrance doors.

“Nathan, please, we are getting married in two weeks! We have a multi-million-dollar merger—” Victoria begged, tears spilling over.
“If you are still in this house when I return from checking Grace’s medical report, I will ensure you never work in this city again.”
