Chapter 29 - The Clean Slate

The complete, highly efficient disappearance of Arturo barely registered as a minor blip in the sprawling, incredibly dangerous underworld of the city.
The remaining, highly scattered remnants of the old cartels heard terrifying whispers of Dante’s brutal, swift retaliation and immediately retreated deeply into the shadows.
They finally understood that the Navarro empire was absolutely not weak or vulnerable simply because they had transitioned into the legitimate, corporate light.
Dante arrived back at the sprawling, beautifully lit estate exactly as the golden morning sun began to completely rise over the distant mountains.
Sofia was waiting for him on the grand marble terrace, holding a warm cup of coffee and completely wrapped in a soft, expensive cashmere shawl.
She looked at his completely calm, entirely relaxed face, completely understanding that the terrifying threat to her family was permanently neutralized.
She didn't ask absolutely any questions about the horrific, bloody details, because she entirely trusted her husband's absolute, undeniable judgment.
Dante wrapped his warm, heavily muscled arms securely around her from behind, resting his chin comfortably on her shoulder as they watched the sunrise.
"The absolute final ghost from your past is completely gone, my beautiful queen," Dante whispered softly against the delicate skin of her neck.
