Chapter 19 - THE WEDDING

The wedding began beneath thousands of flowers.
Guests arrived from across Chicago.
Politicians, business owners, family friends, and people who once whispered Lorenzo’s name with fear now watched him standing beside the woman who had changed him.
When Emma walked down the aisle, Lorenzo forgot to breathe.
She wore a simple ivory gown, elegant and radiant.
Elena sat in the front row.
Her eyes filled with tears.
Lorenzo took Emma’s hands.
“I promise you a life where you never have to wonder whether you are safe, valued, or loved.”
Emma smiled.
“And I promise to remind you that you don't have to carry the whole world alone.”
They exchanged rings.
When they kissed, the room erupted in applause.
No fear.
No scandal.
No threats.
Only celebration.
Afterward, Emma found Elena outside.
“You made this possible,” Elena said.
Emma shook her head.
“No. We did.”
Across the garden, Lorenzo was laughing with Noah.
Emma watched them together.
The boy she had fought to protect.
The man she had learned to trust.
The woman who had become her family.
