Chapter 26 - THE HOUSE OF KINDNESS

The Moretti Foundation opened its largest center yet.

It provided free medical care, food assistance, legal support, and housing resources for elderly residents.

Emma stood at the entrance as families streamed inside.

Elena cut the ribbon.

Lorenzo watched from beside her.

“This is beautiful,” he said.

Emma smiled.

“It's what that night should have become.”

“What do you mean?”

“The night you met me.”

She looked around.

“A room where people looked away became the reason we built a place where nobody has to.”

Lorenzo kissed her temple.

“No wonder my mother loves you.”

“I love her too.”

Across the courtyard, an elderly woman approached Emma.

“Thank you.”

Emma smiled.

“You're welcome.”

The woman began crying.

“I thought nobody cared.”

Emma held her hand.

“I care.”

It was the same sentence she had once wanted someone to say to Elena.

Now she was saying it every day to people who had spent years believing they were invisible.

Lorenzo watched proudly.

He finally understood the true source of Emma's strength.

She didn't need an empire.

She created something far more powerful.

A place where kindness became stronger than fear.
