Chapter 54 - LORENZO LETS GO

Lorenzo had changed more than anyone realized.

One afternoon, he sat across from Noah in the foundation's garden.

“I've been thinking about selling the last of my old businesses.”

Noah looked surprised.

“All of them?”

“All of them.”

“You've already rebuilt most of your life.”

Lorenzo nodded.

“But some pieces still belong to a man I don't recognize anymore.”

Noah understood.

“What will you do?”

“Put the money into the foundation.”

Noah smiled.

“Mom would have loved that.”

Lorenzo looked at the trees.

“I used to think my legacy would be fear.”

“And now?”

Lorenzo looked toward the children playing nearby.

“Now I want it to be useful.”

That evening, he told Emma.

She was quiet for a moment.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

“You don't owe anyone proof.”

“I know.”

“Then why do it?”

Lorenzo smiled.

“Because I don't need the empire anymore.”

Emma took his hand.

“I think Elena would be proud.”

“I hope so.”

May you like

“She already would be.”
