Chapter 74 - LORENZO'S JOURNAL

Lorenzo began keeping a journal.
Nobody knew.
Not Emma.
Not Noah.
Not Matteo.
He wrote at night when the house was quiet.
He wrote about fear.
About his father.
About Elena.
About the years when he had confused power with worth.
And about Emma.
One entry began:
“I thought love would make me weak.
It did the opposite.
It showed me how much strength it took to become gentle.”
Another read:
“My mother taught me to survive.
Emma taught me how to live.”
He never intended anyone to read it.
But years later, after his death, the journal would become one of the foundation's most treasured documents.
For now, he closed it each night and hid it beneath a stack of legal files.
One evening Emma caught him.
“What are you hiding?”
“Nothing.”
She raised an eyebrow.
“You're terrible at lying.”
“I know.”
She kissed him.
“Then I'll let you keep your secrets.”
He smiled.
“Thank you.”
She walked away.
Lorenzo opened the journal again.
He added one final sentence before going to bed.
May you like
“She still doesn't know how extraordinary she is.”
