Chapter 32 - NOAH’S CHOICE

Noah stood in the hospital corridor staring at the acceptance letter in his hands.

The prestigious medical research institute in Boston had offered him a position.

It was everything he had worked for.

Everything his younger self had once dreamed about.

But leaving Chicago meant leaving the foundation, his friends, his family, and the community that had helped shape him.

Emma found him sitting alone in the cafeteria.

“You look like someone just handed you a million dollars and told you to spend it wisely.”

Noah smiled.

“I got an offer.”

She listened as he explained.

“You should go.”

He blinked.

“That quickly?”

“You spent years becoming the doctor you wanted to be. You don't honor Elena by staying afraid of change.”

“But what about the foundation?”

“Your brother-in-law will survive.”

Lorenzo appeared behind them.

“Apparently, I have no choice.”

Noah laughed.

Emma stood.

“You need to go where you can make the biggest difference.”

Noah looked at both of them.

“What if I fail?”

Lorenzo placed a hand on his shoulder.

“Then you come home.”

That simple sentence settled everything.

Noah accepted the position.

And for the first time, he understood that having a family did not mean being afraid to leave.

May you like

It meant knowing there was always somewhere to return to.
